Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

This is the mode of treatment I most often utilize because it is so effective and well researched in the psychology field. An article was recently written in Forbes magazine highlighting CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) as a new therapy revolution (April 9, 2007 issue).

This treatment modality has been around for a long time but recently it has received more attention in the news as a treatment method to receive rather than taking medication.

The basis of CBT is that our thoughts determine our feelings and our behavior. My job is to assist the client to recognize negative patterns of thinking and reframe/replace with more positive/productive thought patterns.
